Becoming

Beautiful young girl.
There have been moments when I’ve been unsure about opening up concerning things within my life, so I would safeguard my openness. Maybe you have been there or could be here now. When you find it difficult to open up and share your truth, because people may misunderstand you. It takes a lot of courage to be open. But genuine connections are made when you show up in who you are without fear of being misunderstood.
I know what it’s like when you are becoming. And the truth is, we’ll always be becoming. You don’t always know how to communicate the changes you are constantly going through, so you bottle your emotions inside. Somehow, if you communicated your feelings it wouldn’t be an age-appropriate conversation. You search for answers without knowing how to ask the right questions. There are many challenges that come in your adolescence and even beyond those years. You begin your quests for identity. Which in most cases, is found in looking to other things and people, and not to the One who created you and knows all about you. You start comparing yourself to others and looking at what they have and what you don’t. At times being a part of the in-crowd, trying to “fit in" makes you feel accepted. Even if you’re not being true to who you are at the core of your being. You want people to see you for who you are, but even you are in search of who you might be.
Hiding becomes your norm. Although, it’s hard to hide that you are just…different. It’s okay to admit that it doesn’t feel good to grow, but don’t allow all the feels of growing stop you. Don’t think for a moment on the days that you cry that it’s a sign of weakness. It’s not at all. Some things are just worth your tears. Learn of yourself. Be you. A façade is the worst mask you could wear. You are beautiful without it. Your truth needs no place to hide. Your experiences are pivotal in shaping who you are. Look within yourself and find that everything lies within a heart afraid to be known. Your inner self is where your true beauty lies. The very essence of who you are.
Who God created you to be.
Your journey to finding out who you are isn’t unusual. You should know who you are before the world tries to define you, for you. You are you. No one is like you. No one can be you better than you. God’s imprint of who you are is all over your heart. All over it. You are approved of by God. You are deeply loved by Him. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Take these different stages of your life and embrace the changes that come with becoming you. You are beautifully becoming who God uniquely created you to be. Be confident in that.
I’m sharing this with you, because I once shared it with myself.
All my love.
